Centipede formation
Centipede was regarded as mysterious creature in Chinese ancient mythology. Therefore people believed that Centipede possesses certain magic power which can expel evil spirits away. Centipede Formation looks like a big roller coaster. It is a long trail resembling centipede, dragged by a light tractor in the front, with 66 uplifted seats linked one after the other. The children who were seated in Centipede Formation came from 2 small villages in Xigang. They're costumed into different characters which derive from legendary war heroes in Tang dynasty (A.D. 618 ~ 907). While Centipede Formation parades in towns or villages, as long as it pulls over, people would rush in and meander under the seats of formation. By doing so people believed that the mighty spirit of centipede would expel bad luck away from them.
